Step up and join 25 teams who will battle over 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes! Judges will judge over color, flavor and texture. The deadline for contest entry is September 6th 2023 unless full before. CONTEST RULES Contestants must pre-register; no walk-ups will be accepted for contest judgment. CHILI TASTING 11 AM – 2PM BLIND JUDGING BY CULINARY PROFESSIONALS 12 PM 1ST, ($100 PLUS TROPHY) 2ND, ($75 PLUS TROPHY) 3RD, ($50 PLUS TROPHY) PEOPLES CHOICE AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT 3 PM ($300 PLUS TROPHY) $35 TO REGISTER PER CHILI COOKING TEAM FOR COMPETITION – LIMITED TO 25 TEAMS TO ENTER YOUR CHILI. YOU CAN NOT SELL YOUR CHILI. PLEASE EMAIL QUESTIONS TO : [email protected] WWW.APEXSHOWSANDEVENTS.COM Contestants must sign-in at the registration upon arrival. Teams to arrive at 7:00 AM. Must supply own tent, table, heating elements (propane tank with pot to cook chili, and ladles.) and fire extinguisher. Chili can be prepped beforehand but no pre made chili allowed to be brought in and will be checked on arrival. Chili tasting for attendees: 11 AM - 2 PM. Blind judging by Culinary Professionals 12 PM Peoples Choice will be announced at 3 PM. Apex Shows and Events will provide tasting cups, spoons, crackers, and napkins to each team. Contestants must prepare 6 gallons of chili for judging and attendee sampling. All ingredients are OK to use, no restrictions. If you are using ingredients people may be allergic to, please make a sign to be posted at your booth. Specialty condiments/toppings are NOT allowed for judging. Ex: No corn bread, sour cream, etc… Each team will be need to prepare the chili cup serving for judging. Runners will receive the cup and serve it to the judges.
