Many of the holiday lights in downtown Pensacola will begin coming down in mid-January, but the Downtown Improvement Board (DIB) announced it will keep the lights on the Palafox Street tree trunks from Garden to Main streets all year thanks to support from the CRA, the City of Pensacola and Florida Power and Light.

“Historic Palafox Street is magical when it’s illuminated by thousands of white lights,” said DIB executive director Walker Wilson. “We have long wanted to extend the lights past the holiday season, and give visitors and residents one more great reason to come downtown and enjoy the shops, restaurants, bars, galleries and events on one of ‘America’s 10 Great Streets.’

Crews will begin taking down the rest of the lights on Jan. 15th.
