Following a two-month pause in parking enforcement in public parking lots and spaces located in the downtown district, the Downtown Improvement Board (DIB) on May 26th approved its parking committee’s recommendation to resume normal operations effective Friday, May 29th. Parking enforcement downtown was all but suspended in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and during the State of Florida “Safer at Home” orders.

In the wake of COVID-19, a section of Palafox Street in downtown Pensacola is being closed to vehicle traffic for "Sunday Strolls" every Sunday in May and June to promote safe outdoor retail and restaurant activities and support local businesses.

The Downtown Improvement Board (DIB) is partnering with downtown restaurants to implement a curbside pick-up service following the most recent guidance from Mayor Grover Robinson regarding COVID-19 that orders all restaurants in the city to only operate as take-out or delivery, starting on Monday, March 23 at 12:01 p.m. for the next two weeks.
